Job Description
Basic Purpose
Contributes to work at the collaborative interface between chemical kinetics and engine modeling, providing a connection between the fundamental combustion chemistry work performed in the Chemical Dynamics Group within the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division and the engine testing work performed within Argonne`s Transportation Technology R&D Center.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Considerable
-Considerable knowledge within one or more of the following: combustion chemistry, kinetics modeling, and device modeling. -Considerable interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. -Considerable motivation toward creative basic research.

Good
-Good skill in formulating, conducting and interpreting scientific problems.

Other
This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in chemistry with some previous practical laboratory experience/interest in the application of combustion science/ engineering.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
Ph.D. and 0-1 year experience/equivalent Master’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience/equivalent Bachelor’s Degree and 6-8 years experience/equivalent
